Socceroos coach Holger Osieck will use the match to observe his squad ahead of its 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Jordan in Amman on 11 September.

'This match against Lebanon will be an ideal opportunity for us to face quality opposition who play a similar style of football to our next opponents in the qualifiers, Jordan," Osieck said.

'The other positive is that Beirut is in a similar region and time zone to Amman and the travel to Jordan following the match is short.

'We will definitely be using this match against Lebanon to test the level of our players before we meet Jordan."

The Socceroos are third in Group B after draws against Oman (0-0) and Japan (1-1) in their opening two matches of the final round of Asian Football Confederation qualifying.

Lebanon is fifth in Group A after losses to Qatar (0-1) and Korea Republic (0-3) and a draw against Uzbekistan.
