Defender Mark Hughes won all the major awards at North Queensland Fury's Medal Night at Jupiters Casino and Hotel in Townsville.

The 24-year-old Englishman was was chosen as Player of the Year, Players’ Players in addition to receiving the People’s Choice Award.

Hughes started all 30 A-League games for Fury and missed just 45 minutes of action, in a campaign that saw him finish the club's second highest goal scorer.

'I’m very happy and delighted but humbled at the same time to have received such acknowledgments from the club, my fellow team-mates and our supporters," Hughes said.

'The decision to come and play in Australia has been life-changing for me. I believe I’ve improved as a footballer and grown as a man.

'I didn’t really know what to expect when I made the move to the Fury but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself and apart from our League position, I wouldn’t change a thing.

'I’d like to thank Rabieh Krayem, Robbie Middleby, the coaching staff and everyone at the Club for all their support this season but I’d also like to thank all the Fury fans for sticking by the Club through this tough season."
