Craig Moore and Scott Chipperfield are confirmed retirees but Mark Bresciano said he planned to continue with the Socceroos – unless his undecided club future dictated otherwise.
'I have to see where I am going to go next with club football and see what the situation is there," Bresciano said.
'I still love playing for my country. I don’t think the time has come yet for me to stop playing for Australia.
"But it depends on what country I am playing my club football and how my body is holding up. But, physically, I feel fine so that’s why I think I can keep going.
'I am not sure if it is the end for [many players]. We haven’t spoken about who is going to retire from international football and who is going to keep going.
'A few of the boys are waiting to see who will come in as new coach so we can make plans for the future."
Bresciano had perhaps a frustrating World Cup campaign, benched for Australia’s disastrous 4-0 loss to Germany and substituted in games against Ghana and Serbia.
Rumours of a fall out with coach Pim Verbeek were denied but private disappointment in not being able to make a bigger contribution was evident.
'[Verbeek] has taken me off at the same time in both games around the 70th minute," Bresciano said. 'He didn’t say much except 'congratulations, you played a good game’.
'You have got to respect his decision. He is the coach. He makes the decisions. I can’t say anything because the boys came on and we scored a goal [against Serbia] so it was a good change."
'We did everything possible against Serbia but we lost the first game by a lot of goals. We should not have conceded so many goals and that was a big loss for us.
"We all knew that would cost us qualification to the next stage. Four points usually get you through."
Bresciano acknowledged younger players had to be brought in to the squad for the 2014 World Cup and felt there would be talented players emerging over the next few years.
'They have to find players who can step up and make up the team again," he declared. 'It will be a good project.
"The new guys in this squad have been fantastic from day one. They have got talent and their time will come."
