Former Manchester United and Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich looks certain to sign for A-League side Central Coast Mariners after a man-of-the-match performance in a 3-0 win over Sydney FC in round two of the Pre-Season Cup on Sunday.

The 36-year-old has spent the last week training with the Mariners and before Sunday had not made a senior appearance since playing for Chelsea against Everton in November 2001.

But he made a perfect return with a superb performance, pulling off a number of stunning saves including a penalty from Steve Corica in the 70th minute.

Brad Porter had opened the scoring for the Mariners two minutes before half-time before striker Sasho Petrovski added a second on the hour mark.

Eight minutes later substitute Sasho Petrovski netted from the penalty spot to seal the win.

Elsewhere, Queensland Roar were held to a 1-1 draw by Wellington Phoenix at Stockdale Stadium.

Sergio van Dijk opened the scoring for Roar in the 18th minute but Adam Kwasnik grabbed the equaliser with 16 minutes remaining to earn a share of the spoils.

On Saturday, Perth Glory were defeated 1-0 at Members Equity by Melbourne Victory, whilst in Cessnock the Newcastle Jets and Adelaide United played out a goalless draw.
