New home ... Fowler is due back in Australia within a fortnight (Getty)
Marquee man Robbie Fowler revealed that he chose Perth over Sydney FC because he felt more wanted by Glory.
After parting ways with North Queensland Fury, Fowler was chased by double-winning Sydney FC before electing to join Glory.
"I spoke to both clubs and I felt Perth just wanted me that little bit more and went out of their way," Fowler said.
"I dealt with the chairman Tony Sage and everything he said about the club was first class.
"I just felt they were a club that was heading in the right way.
"Perth were a very good team last season and hopefully with me there we can finish up futher up the table."
Enjoying a break in the United Kingdom before linking up with his new team-mates later this month, Fowler confirmed that he knocked back some offers from the Middle East to stay in the A-League.
"I played in Australia last season and really enjoyed the football, stadiums and crowds," the 35-year-old explained.
"So when you are used to something it’s hard to let go and go somewhere else. That was a major factor."
Fowler also dispelled any talk of a rift with Perth Glory assistant coach Ian Ferguson, following their infamous run-in last season at Fury.
"It’s never been a problem," Fowler said of his relationship with Ferguson.
"The manager at the time wanted to drop me and he has every right to, I never had any qualms with that.
"The way things panned out, I could have handled it a bit better. It’s all down to me.
"I was probably in the wrong and I did admit that. It was never as big a deal as people made it out to be bigger than it was."
After beginning his debut A-League campaign with Fury in goalscoring form, Fowler's output in the second half of the campaign was less than stellar but he maintains his overall performance was up to scratch - in a league that he belives is better than people give it credit for.
"I think the A-League's very good. Like any league there is some very good players and some not as good. I was happy with the standard," he added.
"The fact that I’m there (in the A-League) may attract other players and hopefully make the league better."
