Perth Glory star striker Shane Smeltz is out of the game against Melbourne Heart at nib Stadium on Sunday because of a hamstring injury.
Smeltz was hurt playing for New Zealand in the World Cup qualifier against Tahiti in Christchurch on Tuesday.
Glory was alerted ahead of his return on Wednesday night that he had developed “hamstring tightness”.
The World Game has since been told that Smeltz will miss the visit of Heart, and that he would probably miss the Week 4 trip to Sydney FC as well.
Smeltz was away on international duty for last Sunday's 1-0 loss on the road against Central Coast Mariners.
