Coming home ... Vince Grella (Getty Images)
The A-League received another boost with Vince Grella to sign a one-year deal to link up with Melbourne Heart.
Grella, who has had stints in Italy with Empoli, Ternana (loan), Parma and Torino before switching to English side Blackburn Rovers, will arrive in Melbourne on Saturday.
The 33-year-old midfielder, who has won 46 caps for Australia and featured for the Socceroos at the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups, will link up with his new team-mates next Monday afternoon when they return from their Week 3 A-League fixture against Perth Glory at nib Stadium.
Heart has started the season with four points from its opening two games, with Grella set to strengthen both its squad and the league itself, which has also benefited from the off-season signings of marquee men Alessandro Del Piero (Sydney FC), Shinji Ono (Western Sydney Wanderers) and Emile Heskey (Newcastle Jets).
