Vidosic sorry for Roar comments

The venue where Postecoglou had savoured his greatest triumphs with back-to-back A-League champion Brisbane suddenly became a graveyard as a depleted Victory suffered its worst ever loss.

And the 17,364-strong crowd did not let the master coach forget, picking up from the pre-match barbs of his former Roar players to heckle Postecoglou.

At one stage the Brisbane faithful unfurled a banner which read: 'Without us, you're nothing'.

But rather than savour a memorable maiden win with the Roar reins, Vidosic felt for his former boss post-match.

Reminded that Postecoglou had been less than impressed by the Roar players' taunts before kick-off, Vidosic said: "I was disappointed as well.

"That's not me, that's not my style.

"I never said anything bad about Ange.

"He has been a shining light for this club. He has done a fantastic job for this club.

"But sometimes things happen that are out of your control.

"I am sorry this week went like this. I think we can all learn something from this week."

Roar players had claimed Vidosic was the 'brains' of the two championships and expressed the desire to send Postecoglou home a loser ahead of the clash.

And they backed it up on the pitch, with Besart Berisha bagging a double in a classic Roar display.

However, Vidosic did not believe there was any bad blood between the Roar players and their former coach.

"That has been blown out of proportion. The comments have been taken that maybe the players did not mean or did not want to say," he said.

"You say 10 positive things and then you say one negative, and that negative has been published.

"It's not how I like to operate or how this club likes to operate. Sometimes things are out of your control.

"The week has been very difficult for everyone involved for myself (and) for players put in a position that they probably didn't really want to be in."

Asked if he would explain the player comments to a clearly gutted Postecoglou, Vidosic said: "No, I don't have to talk to Ange about anything. I don't think so."

Postecoglou still seemed to be simmering over the comments after a Victory outfit missing Archie Thompson and Mark Milligan (Socceroos) and Marco Rojas (All Whites) were blown off the field.

"They had their choice about how to approach the week. It's a free world," he said.

"Anyone can do whatever they like, that's fine. From my point of view I don't have to like it.

"I've spoken about the Roar, and I don't care anymore. I've got nothing to do with this football club anymore."
