Hot streak ... Archie Thompson (Getty Images)
Archie Thompson grabbed a second-half equaliser for Melbourne Victory as it drew 1-1 with Central Coast Mariners in a pre-season friendly on Sunday at Knox Grammar School in Sydney.
Thompson, returning from international duty with Australia, with whom he scored in matches against Lebanon and Jordan earlier this month, scored for Victory with a tick over an hour gone on the match clock.
Earlier, Mariners skipper Patrick Zwaanswijk scored with a header as early as the third minute to give the 'home' team the lead.
The Mariners were dominant in the first-half, with good chances also going to Tom Rogic and Mitchell Duke.
Victory steadied the ship in the second-half before each side made a number of changes and settled for the draw.
Elsewhere, Golgol Mebrahtu and Dylan Macallister scored for Melbourne Heart in a 2-0 win over a Peninsula XI in Langwarrin, south of Melbourne.
