On the spot ... Wellington Phoenix striker Paul Ifill (Getty Images)
Goals from Jeremy Brockie and Paul Ifill weren't enough as Wellington Phoenix went down 3-2 to Shillong Lajong in the North-East Super Series final at Shillong's Nehru Stadium.
Brockie opened the scoring with a header from an Alex Smith cross, but two goals from Friday Gbenene put Shillong ahead at half-time.
Ifill made 2-2 from the penalty spot but seven minutes from time Shillong netted the winner.
"We got a good workout today, especially in the first-half, which was what we needed," coach Ricki Herbert said.
"It has been a tough trip but we got four good games under our belt and finished the tour with no injuries.
"Louis (Fenton) was really impressive today and I would have to say he has been the player of the tour overall."
