Brisbane Roar beat Brisbane Premier League side Peninsula Power 2-0 at AJ Kelly Park thanks to goals from Matt Jurman and Kwame Yeboah.
George Lambadaridis came closest to opening the scoring for Roar only to see his early effort hit the woodwork, but defender Jurman netted soon after with a left-foot shot.
Half-time substitute Yeboah made it 2-0 just before the hour, the National Youth League player doubling his side's lead before producing a back-flip to celebrate.
Roar goalkeeper Michael Theo was forced into action to keep his side two goals to the good against a gallant opponent, before Ivan Franjic hit the post with a quickly-taken free-kick.
As well as goalkeeper Theo, coach Rado Vidosic also fielded a side which included captain Matt Smith and striker Besart Berisha.
