Styoked... Kofi Danning will leave Brisbane Roar for Belgian club Cercle Sportif Vise. (Getty)
Brisbane Roar confirmed striker Kofi Danning will join Belgian club Cercle Sportif Vise on a two year deal, pending a medical.
As revealed by The World Game, Danning will link up with the Bakrie Group-owned Belgian second division club after failing to cement a regular spot in Roar's 2011-2012 Championship-winning side.
The Belgian club's executive vice president and CEO Roberto Regis Milano was in Brisbane for Roar’s final AFC Champions League match against Beijing Guoan and was believed to be impressed by Danning's form in the 1-1 draw.
“This is a great opportunity for Kofi,” said Brisbane Roar General Manager Sean Dobson.
“Beppe [Guiseppe Accardi], the Bakrie Group talent scout, has previously watched Kofi playing for the Olyroos and Young Socceroos and Roberto really liked what he saw in the Beijing game.
“They requested us to give Kofi a chance to play in Belgium and we didn’t want to stand in his way.
"Kofi is not only a talented footballer but a great character and he’ll be missed around the club."
