First test ... Sydney FC coach Ian Crook (Getty Images)
Sydney FC coach Ian Crook says he is 'really excited' about taking charge of the Sky Blues for the first time when they face Macarthur Rams at Campbelltown Stadium on 14 August.
The game will be the fourth between the two sides, and with Sydney set to field several of its new signings Crook said he is looking forward to the Campbelltown Stadium clash.
"It's great to have our regular pre-season fixture at Campbelltown where we have always had fantastic support and we hope to see as many fans as possible turn up," Crook said.
"I'm really excited about this game as it's the first chance to put our hard work and new football style to the test."
The game is the first of three pre-season community matches for Sydney, with games at St George Saints (21 August) and Manly United (28 August) confirmed. More games are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
"We've been very active right across Sydney with our community program this year, with the players providing coaching sessions at local clubs and attending different association's gala days," chief executive officer Tony Pignata said.
"These games are another very important part of that community engagement and provide an excellent opportunity for fans to meet and see some of Australia's best players on their doorstep."
