On the mark ... striker Mark Bridge scored the Wanderers' first goal (Getty)
Western Sydney Wanderers maintained its unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory over Blacktown Spartans in a trial match at Blacktown Internatioanl Sportspark on Wednesday night.
The Wanderers' second trial match of the pre-season drew a crowd of 4116 fans.
The opening half was full of end-to-end football and Aaron Mooy was busy in the centre of the park providing service for strikers Mark Bridge and Jason Trifiro.
Tarek Elrich also worked hard down the right flank providing many crosses.
The scores were level at half-time after which Wanderers coach Tony Popovic made a number of changes.
The match continued in much the same fashion as the first and the Wanderers scored twice through Bridge after 59 minutes and Ricky Zucco six minutes later.
Mooy, who was one of the best players in the match, said later he was happy with the effort from the squad.
“We got a victory but more importantly we are continuing to work on our combinations which is our main goal throughout the pre-season,” he said.
“We’ve been working hard and will continue to, so it’s pleasing to see that we are taking it out on to the pitch.”
