Perth Glory takes on top flight club Amazulu FC in the first game of its South Africa pre-season tour on Tuesday evening (Wednesday 2am AEST).
Glory's starting XI will include five of the club's off-season recruits in the 4-2-3-1 formation.
In defence left-back Scott Jamieson and centre-back Michael Thwaite will join Steve Pantelidis and right-back Josh Risdon with Danny Vukovic in goal.
Chris Harold, Nicky Ward and Adrian Zahra will form the attacking midfield trio, ahead of skipper Jacob Burns and playmaker Liam Miller.
Travis Dodd will operate as the lone striker.
"I'm expecting a tough encounter against Amazulu," Burns said. "We know that they will be physically strong and quick and are a good overall side who finished seventh in their league last term.
"It's a great opportunity for us to have another game in which we can try new things in terms of tactics and formations, bed the new players in and work on our combinations all over the pitch.
"You can only do that by playing games against decent quality opposition."
Glory faces Amazulu at Mbombela Stadium, where Australia took on Serbia at the 2010 World Cup.
"I'm also looking forward to playing at what is by all accounts a fantastic stadium with a great surface and it should be a really good experience, especially for the young lads in the squad," Burns said.
"The fans here tend to make a lot of noise with their vuvuzelas and so on, so there's always a good vibe and I’m sure that’ll be the case for this game."
A crowd of 10,000 is expected to attend the match against an Amazulu side that lost 1-0 to Manchester United in a friendly last week.
Glory has settled in well to its tour home at the stunning Ingwenyama Resort in Nelspruit and took to the training field on Monday evening in light mist.
While on its two-week tour of South Africa, Perth will also face Platinum All Stars on Friday 27 July (Saturday 28 July 2am AEST) and Bid Vest Wits on Tuesday 31 July 7pm AEST). before its return on Saturday 4 August.
