Western Sydney Wanderers has named four more signings in head coach Tony Popovic’s recruitment drive.
Former Sydney FC trio Michael Beauchamp, Mark Bridge and Shannon Cole have joined the newly formed club to bring a high level of experience in A-League.
Another former Sydney player Nikolai Topor-Stanley joins the club from Newcastle Jets.
Beauchamp, Bridge and Cole are products of western Sydney and will return to their old stomping ground where they came through the ranks as junior footballers at clubs including Marconi, Parramatta Eagles and Apia-Leichhardt.
Not only does the trio have an affinity with Sydney’s west but also with Popovic with worked with Cole and Bridge at Sydney and Beauchamp with the Socceroos.
Topor-Stanley joins Wanderers after a three-year spell in Newcastle.
With more than 130 A-League appearances to his name, former Sydney defender Topor-Stanley adds another layer of experience to the fledgling squad taking shape under Popovic.
Topor-Stanley will look to link up with Beauchamp in the centre of the Wanderers defence.
“I’m very pleased to have players with the experience of these guys in my squad,” said Popovic.
“All four players have excellent pedigree in the A-League and each bring something different to the squad.”
The four players will commence training on Monday 2 July before pulling on the black and red hoops in the opening Wanderers league match against Central Coast Mariners on 6 October.
Promising striker Tomi Juric has been lured to Western Sydney Wanderers on a two-year deal as coach Tony Popovic sets about tweaking his Premiers’ Plate winning side for next season.
