Roar recruit ... Matt Jurman leaving Sydney for Brisbane next A-League season (Getty)
The good news keeps coming for A-League title favourite Brisbane Roar, after the club secured the services of young defender Matthew Jurman for two seasons.
Currently with Sydney FC, Jurman will join competition premier Brisbane at the conclusion of Sydney's upcoming AFC Champions League campaign.
Brisbane head coach Ange Postecoglou said he was delighted to have picked up the 21-year-old Jurman, believing he would fill the shoes of the departed Luke DeVere in the heart of the Brisbane defence.
"I know Matt well, I coached him at junior international level and I've watched him very closely this season," Postecoglou said.
"Once Luke left I obviously wanted a replacement and I wanted a young Australian centreback ... Matt was the ideal candidate.
"He's shown he's ready to play at a consistent level and we're looking forward to the opportunity to help develop him further."
Jurman has played nine A-League matches this season for Sydney, starting in eight, which adds to his 14 appearances for the club since his debut in 2007/08.
