Cameo effort ... Brisbane Roar winger Henrique (Getty)
Refreshed Brazilian winger Henrique shapes as the wild card in Brisbane Roar's A-League finals campaign after another lively cameo at Skilled Park.
Henrique would be a definite starter in Roar's best line-up but is lacking match fitness after missing a big chunk of the season with a broken arm.
On Tuesday night he entered the match - only his 10th for the season - against Queensland Fury in the 46th minute and showed his class with a deft chip from about seven metres.
The well-weighted shot comfortable cleared Fury's goalkeeper Justin Pasfield to bring up Roar's second goal, and Henrique's first for the season, in the 2-1 win.
Roar coach Ange Postecoglou did not hide his excitement about having Henrique back on the eve of the finals series.
"We wanted to get him some game time, we got him half a game," Postecoglou told reporters.
"It was a probably little bit longer than we thought we would.
"He looked dangerous every time he was on the ball so we are going to need him."
Looking animated and enthusiastic in his time on the pitch, Postecoglou said Henrique can expect the equivalent, if not more, game time against Gold Coast United on Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium.
He said the 25-year-old's presence has been like having a young player come into the side at exactly the right time of the season.
"We'll give home some game time on Saturday night and I think that will help us," Postecoglou said.
"He's missed a big part of the season and we've done so well and he wants to be a big part of it.
"Through not fault of his own he had to miss a big chunk of the season ... he does add some enthusiasm which is great.
"Probably at the tail end of the season that is what you need.
"He's definitely a bonus for us and I'm sure he will make an impact."
Despite racking up a record 24 games without loss, which includes three wins from the past three matches at Skilled Park, the Roar coach said his side still needed additional firepower.
He says Henrique is the forward support the side needs on the eve of the finals.
"In the position he (Henrique) plays we are a bit thin up front," he said.
"We haven't got a lot of options up front so we are banking on him coming back and making an impact in that area.
"It looks like he's ready to go."
