Germany started its FIFA U-17 World Cup campaign in style with a 6-1 Group E demolition of Ecuador in Queretaro, Mexico.

The scores were locked at 1-1 after 51 minutes, Ecuador's Carlos Gruezo cancelling out Samed Yesil's 31st-minute opener.

But Germany went ahead for a second time just three minutes later through Cimo Roecker, and added four more goals in the final half-hour to seal an empathic win.

Levent Aycicek netted his side's third in the 61st minute, with Yesil getting his second and his side's fourth with 21 minutes remaining.

And there was still time for Marvin Ducksch and Okan Aydin to add to Germany's tally in the last five minutes to ease their side top of a group which also contains Burkina Faso and Panama.
